Job summary

Leaping AI is seeking a CTO-like leader to spearhead our engineering efforts in San Francisco. The role requires guiding a four-person tech team and lifting overall productivity to 10x, with close collaboration to the CEO and CTO.

The candidate will balance architecture decisions with hands-on coding and drive engineering best practices across the org. The position is based in our San Francisco office with a potential one-day-per-week work-from-home option.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in fast-growing startups / scale-ups
• Leadership experience of an engineering team
• Strong software design and cloud/architecture focus
• Experience with LLMs and full-stack applications

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering team on a day to day basis
• Guide the team on architectural decisions
• Have final say on task prioritization
• Review code and RFCs
• Set up engineering best practices and processes
• Act as liaison to CEO/CTO/Director of Sales/Head of CS
• Contribute to the code base yourself (20-30% of your time)
