Job summary

OpenAI’s User Operations team is looking for experienced professionals to help customers adopt our platform and ensure an exceptional product experience at scale. You will troubleshoot high-impact issues, guide deployments, and provide expert guidance across tickets and live calls.

You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations to improve systems, reduce bugs, and elevate the customer experience by leveraging automation and AI capabilities to transform support workflows.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in User Operations, Engineering, Support Engineering or similar technical roles.
Strong SaaS troubleshooting skills; able to learn new technologies quickly.
Excellent enterprise communication; remains calm with high-stakes customers.
Experience scripting or coding (e.g., Python) to automate tasks.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Sales).

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve customers’ complex technical issues, including API failures and production incidents.
Become a trusted expert on OpenAI’s products and platform.
Escalate and collaborate with Engineering to prevent recurring problems and to improve internal tooling.
Partner with Product and Go-To-Market teams to scale solutions.
Drive operational excellence by introducing automation and AI-powered workflows.
Provide on-call support during holidays and weekends as needed.
