Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an experienced User Operations professional to help scale our post-AGI support team. You will interact with customers via tickets and Slack, troubleshoot complex issues, and partner with cross‑functional teams to drive initiatives that improve reliability and adoption of our products.

You will help set new standards for response times, automate recurring tasks with scripting, and foster a productive culture while providing on-call support during holidays and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in user operations, technical support, or support engineering roles.
• Experience with SaaS troubleshooting at scale.
• Ability to script or engineer code (e.g., Python) to automate tasks and integrate tools.
• Proven ability to build relationships across teams to drive resolution.

Responsibilities

• Support public sector customers and translate security/compliance needs into clear steps.
• Work directly with customers, solving complex problems and providing product knowledge.
• Be among the foremost experts on OpenAI products and guide others.
• Collaborate with engineering and customer teams to resolve issues.
• Automate recurring processes and improve internal tooling.
