Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for its AI Studio to join a collaborative, science‑driven engineering team. You will own defined production components within enterprise AI products and automation solutions, shaping opportunities into scalable AI assets with measurable business impact.

You will work across the full lifecycle—from discovery and prototyping to production deployment—connecting technical measures to user outcomes while collaborating with business partners and engineering

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in CS/IT or related field.
• Associate’s degree with 6+ years in CS/IT or related field.
• High school diploma with 8+ years in CS/IT or related field.

Responsibilities

• Define component boundaries, use cases, acceptance criteria, non‑functional requirements, and estimates with partners.
• Design and implement Python, SQL, APIs, data, model, retrieval and workflow components with clear contracts and tests.
• Apply EDA, feature engineering, and validation techniques including cross‑validation and leakage prevention.
• Build GenAI, RAG, and bounded agent components with structured output, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.
• Engineer data and feature pipelines with schema validation, provenance, and access controls.
• Define evaluation for model quality, retrieval and tool correctness, safety and user impact.
• Release components using cloud services, containers, CI/CD, monitoring and runbooks; diagnose failures.
• Apply security, privacy, Responsible AI, and GxP controls; guide junior engineers.
