Amgen is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the AI & Data Innovation Lab. You will build high‑impact AI proofs‑of‑concepts, working at the intersection of AI engineering, software engineering, cloud and data architecture, and business partnership.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development, ownership, and creating reusable patterns and architectures to enable scalable AI solutions across Amgen’s platforms.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree (PhD) or Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable AI/ML systems and proofs‑of‑concept that demonstrate real value and are ready for production.
• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and platform teams to translate requirements into practical AI solutions.
• Design and implement modern AI architectures using LLMs, retrieval augmented generation, and cloud‑native data pipelines.
• Assess feasibility, data readiness, security, performance, and cost to guide scalable AI delivery.
• Create reusable assets and documentation to help other teams scale successful POCs.
