Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to own enterprise AI/ML architecture, standards, APIs, and guardrails across cloud/on-prem. You will build production ML/GenAI solutions, end-to-end ML pipelines, and full-stack AI apps, while leading teams and defining technical strategy.

This role demands strong Python/Java, cloud, and MLOps expertise. Ideal candidates have a PhD with leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of practice, with a track record

Qualifications

• PhD with 2+ years of ML engineer leadership experience or
• MS with 6+ years of ML engineer leadership experience or
• BS with 8+ years of ML engineer leadership experience or
• Associates + 10+ years of ML engineer leadership experience or
• High school diploma with 12+ years of ML engineer leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise AI/ML architecture, standards, APIs, and guardrails across cloud/on-prem.
• Build production ML/GenAI solutions and lightweight apps delivering sub-second insights.
• Build end-to-end ML pipelines: ingestion, feature engineering, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Create full-stack AI apps by integrating model services with lightweight UI/workflow layers.
• Establish observability, SLOs, and safe deployment practices.
