Job summary

Appian is seeking an AI Solution Architect to lead technical design, architecture, and delivery of Appian-based solutions for federal customers. You’ll advise on AI capabilities, data governance, and enterprise data strategies, while aligning with mission objectives and responsible AI principles.

You will collaborate across Customer Success to guide engagements, develop innovative offerings and support pre-sales with complex technical solutions. Remote travel 10-15% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years advising on government cloud design; 10 years multi-tier architecture.
• Experience with architecting secure cloud hosting for federal customers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Leadership in enterprise cloud environments (e.g. C2S, JWICS, GovCloud).
• Experience authoring federal proposals and whitepapers.
• Experience with agile frameworks (Scrum/SAFe) and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% to support customer engagements including SCIFs.

Responsibilities

• Advise on technical design, architecture and implementation of Appian solutions on private cloud/on-premise or gov cloud.
• Support the sales cycle with high-value, differentiated solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Present and vet integrated solutions and complex technical concepts to customers.
• Support configuration, testing, deployment and operations of Appian applications.
• Work with clients on governance, delivery automation and DevSecOps practices.
• Lead development of innovations and offerings to support Appian delivery capabilities.
• Review technical challenges with architects and distill best practices.
• Contribute to whitepapers and pre-sales solutioning and proposals.
• Advise federal customers on AI, LLMs, automation, and responsible AI alignment.
• Lead enterprise data strategies and architectures for federal data platforms on cloud.
