Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Agentforce AI team. You will design, implement, and scale enterprise‑grade AI agents that autonomously handle customer inquiries and connect to Salesforce Data Cloud and REST/GraphQL APIs.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years backend experience, strong OO languages, and familiarity with AI/ML services, RAG, and multi‑tenant SaaS in a rapid, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 3–5+ years of software engineering with backend focus; experience designing and scaling AI/ML services or conversational AI systems.
• Languages: OO languages (Java, Python, Apex, or C#) in microservice, multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• GenAI & NLP: LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases.
• Salesforce Ecosystem: Experience with Apex, LWC, Flows, API integrations, Agentforce.
• APIs: RESTful/GraphQL APIs, data pipelines, relational and non-relational databases.
• DevOps: Git, CI/CD, unit testing, automated E2E testing.
• Communication: Translating complex tech to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Agent Architecture & Development: Design, build, and optimize enterprise‑grade AI agents using Agentforce Builder, Agent Script, and NGA.
• Autonomous Conversation Design: Develop agent topics, reasoning paths, skills, and fallback flows for multilingual support.
• Prompt Engineering & Fine‑Tuning: Craft and evaluate system prompts and guardrails for accuracy and safety.
• Integrations & Data Pipelines: Connect agents to Salesforce Data Cloud, Apex, REST/GraphQL APIs, and external systems.
• Model Evaluation & QA: Implement testing frameworks, A/B testing, benchmarks for quality and safety.
• Customer Zero Innovation: Partner with product teams to test unreleased Agentforce capabilities.
• Production Excellence: Participate in CI/CD, code reviews, on‑call rotations.
