Job summary

CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to help build next-gen agentic systems for cybersecurity. You will train models, develop AI agents, and rigorously measure performance on unique data challenges.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity experts to tailor analyst workflows, post-train LLMs, and explore state-of-the-art planning and memory techniques. This role emphasizes research rigor and real-world impact.

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in ML, probability, statistics and experimental design.
• PhD-level depth in modern ML research (not required to have a PhD). Read, critique, implement and improve papers.
• Experience training generative models and LLM training fundamentals.
• Reinforcement learning and post-training methods (RLHF/RLAIF; PPO/GRPO/DPO).
• Experience building agentic systems (ReAct, planning, retrieval/memory).
• Experience with prompt optimization and eval design for LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Work at intersection of AI and Threat Research in cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to understand analyst workflows.
• Post-train LLMs and agents with supervised fine-tuning and RL methods.
• Design AI agents and complex workflows with planning and memory.
• Prototype state-of-the-art agentic methods from literature.
• Benchmark agentic systems with rigorous evals and metrics.
• Optimize prompts and inference for model performance.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Data Science, and Managed Services teams.
