Job summary

CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader, is seeking a Data Scientist to help build the next generation of agentic systems. You will work at the intersection of AI, Threat Research, and cybersecurity across large-scale data.

You will train models, fine-tune agents, and evaluate performance on real security tasks while collaborating with Engineering and Data Science teams. The team processes nearly a trillion events daily.

Qualifications

• Excellent foundations in machine learning, probability, and statistics.
• PhD-level depth of understanding in modern machine learning research (not strictly required).
• Experience training generative models and strong command of LLM training fundamentals.
• Reinforcement learning / post-training: RLHF/RLAIF, PPO/GRPO/DPO, reward modeling.
• Experience building agentic systems: architectures, tool calls, memory retrieval.
• Experience with prompt optimization and evals for LLM systems.
• Fluency with GPUs, PyTorch, and the LLM stack (Hugging Face, DeepSpeed, vLLM).
• Strong reproducible research engineering and clean Python code.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous objectives and communicate in a large project team.
• Proven experience applying AI to improve decision-making and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of AI and Threat Research.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity SMEs to understand analyst workflows and procedures.
• Post-train LLMs and agents to automate analyst tasks.
• Develop AI agents and complex workflows with planning and memory.
• Research agentic planning and prototype state-of-the-art methods.
• Establish benchmarks for agentic systems with rigorous metrics.
• Optimize prompts and inference for better model performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, and Managed Services to productionize prototypes.
• Stay updated on AI developments and identify priority research areas.
