Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Data Scientist to advance agentic systems for cybersecurity, training models and AI agents on trillion-behavioral events daily. You will work where machine learning, big data, and cybersecurity converge, building AI agents and evaluating their performance on real security tasks.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity experts to design workflows, train and fine-tune models, and push prototypes toward production while keeping pace with rapid field advancements.

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in machine learning, probability, and statistics.
• PhD-level depth of understanding in modern ML research (equivalent mastery).
• Experience training generative models and LLM training fundamentals.
• Reinforcement learning and post-training with RLHF/RLAIF, PPO/GRPO/DPO.
• Experience building agentic systems (ReAct, planning, memory).
• Experience with systematic prompt optimization and evals for LLMs.
• Fluency with GPUs, PyTorch, and common LLM stack.
• Strong reproducible research engineering and clear communication.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous objectives.

Responsibilities

• Work at the intersection of AI and Threat Research.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to understand analyst workflows.
• Post-train LLMs and agents to automate analyst procedures.
• Develop AI agents and complex workflows (planning, tool calls, memory).
• Research new agentic planning approaches and prototype state-of-the-art methods.
• Establish evaluation criteria for benchmarking agentic systems.
• Optimize prompts and inference for model efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, and Managed Services to productionize prototypes.
• Stay updated with AI research developments and identify research priorities.
