dv01 is seeking a Data Governance Lead in New York to replace informal governance with a deliberate, scalable program. You will partner with Data Engineering, Data Product, and Legal to define ownership, classifications, and quality thresholds.

This role focuses on building a data dictionary, governing data rights, and measuring quality. You will start as an IC and later build a team as the function grows, contributing to safer data-driven decisions in a huge financial market.

Qualifications

• Accomplished data governance professional with 7+ years of experience.
• Built data governance programs from the ground up.
• Meticulous, organized; can define ownership and decisions.
• Fluent in technical discussions; review SQL and data models.
• Hands-on governance and data quality using BigQuery, dbt, Unity Catalog.

Responsibilities

• Scale AI data readiness by defining ownership and quality controls.
• Own the data quality framework and its metrics.
• Establish named owners and stewardship across data domains.
• Own data dictionary and business definitions across the stack.
• Own data rights and ensure enablement in the platform.
• Run data program with persistence and clear direction.
