Job summary

AHEAD Data Platform team is seeking a Data Governance Lead to build and run the governance capability hands-on, defining standards and implementing them directly across catalogs, lineage, quality checks, and access policy at the platform level. This role reports to the Director, Data Platform and partners with engineering to embed governance in every data product.

The Lead will join a federated model, shape the governance operating model, and may grow a small governance function over time,

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in data governance and platform delivery.
• Three+ years leading governance programs or cross-functional data operating frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building and operating governance capabilities, catalogs, lineage, and quality rules.

Responsibilities

• Platform governance execution — define and build the enterprise data catalog and enforce metadata standards.
• Implement automated lineage capture across ingestion, transformations, and product publication.
• Write and maintain data quality rules within pipeline stages and manage remediation workflows.
• Configure Snowflake governance controls (RBAC, security, classification, masking) at platform level.
• Build access request and approval workflows for domain connections with self-service access.
• Define and enforce event contract governance with schema standards and registry configuration.
• Develop governance dashboards and KPIs for stewardship, quality, metadata, and lineage.
