Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced engineer to turn emerging AI capabilities into durable products. You will own end-to-end slices from user interaction to production code, balancing speed with accessibility, maintainability and responsible use.

The Challenger program emphasizes small, fast teams delivering real business impact through AI-enabled services, with opportunities to shape design, data, and enterprise integrations in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• End-to-end delivery: taking software from concept through launch and adoption.
• Technical breadth: full-stack across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud.
• Applied AI experience: building products with large language models, retrieval, tools, or AI patterns.
• Evaluation experience: automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic systems.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, reliability, incident response, recovery, performance improvement.
• User-centered practice: working with users, designers, and product leaders to improve product decisions.
• Engineering craft: clear specifications, maintainable code, thoughtful review, sound trade-offs.
• Travel up to 50% and hybrid office flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and work with users/domain experts to identify value.
• Test hypotheses quickly with concise specs, prototypes, and small releases.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior with instructions, context, retrieval, and tools.
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and evaluations.
• Connect outcomes to behavior by instrumenting user journeys and cost.
• Engineer for responsible use with secure data handling and checkpoints.
• Own production quality by releasing incrementally and monitoring live behavior.
• Make practical trade-offs balancing experience, quality, speed, reliability and cost.
• Share reusable patterns and evaluation assets while remaining accountable.
