Modern Family Law is seeking a Legal Knowledge Engineer to bridge legal expertise and AI systems, translating workflows, procedures, and institutional knowledge into scalable AI-enabled platforms.

The role requires JD or equivalent experience, 3+ years in related fields, and a passion for AI-driven legal delivery while upholding ethics and compliance. Collaboration with attorneys, product teams, and developers is essential.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent practical legal workflow experience.
• 3+ years in legal operations, legal technology, workflow design, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of legal workflows and procedural systems.

Responsibilities

• Own evaluation standards – rubrics, golden examples, and human-review criteria for AI-generated work products.
• Translate legal reasoning, workflows, and procedures into structured AI-enabled systems.
• Design decision trees, escalation frameworks, and workflow logic for family law workflows.
• Collaborate with attorneys and operational teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Help structure and maintain institutional legal knowledge repositories and playbooks.
• Develop retrieval, prompt orchestration, and workflow execution systems.
• Assist in building AI-powered intake, document automation, and client communication systems.
• Partner with product managers, developers, and AI engineers on implementation and testing.
• Define quality assurance, human-review, and escalation standards for AI outputs.
