Modern Family Law in the United States is seeking a Legal Knowledge Engineer to bridge legal practice with AI-driven systems. You will translate workflows, design prompts, and build scalable, compliant processes while coordinating with attorneys, product teams, and developers.

The role emphasizes automation, institutional knowledge governance, and ongoing improvement of AI-assisted legal delivery with strong human oversight and ethical considerations.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent practical legal workflow experience.
• 3+ years in legal operations, legal technology, workflow design, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of legal workflows and operational process design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into structured workflows and operational logic.

Responsibilities

• Translate legal reasoning, workflows, and procedural requirements into structured AI-enabled systems.
• Design decision trees, escalation frameworks, workflow logic, and prompt architectures for family law workflows.
• Collaborate with attorneys and operational teams to identify automation opportunities and process improvement.
• Help structure and maintain institutional legal knowledge repositories, workflow playbooks, and operational guidance systems.
• Develop and refine AI prompts, retrieval systems, and workflow orchestration logic.
• Assist in building AI-powered intake systems, document automation workflows, and client communication systems.
• Partner with product managers, developers, and AI engineers on implementation and testing.
