Job summary

Breeze is hiring a Financial Underwriting Lead in New York to own underwriting decisions for merchant growth, risk, and compliance across markets.

You will combine corporate credit analysis with financial judgment, build policies and scorecards, and leverage AI/data tooling to speed file review. This role offers ownership, meaningful impact, and a path to scale our global financial infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in corporate debt analysis and underwriting for venture debt, growth lending, or startup financing.
• Ability to form a view from incomplete or unaudited financials.
• Proven ownership of credit decisions and written memos defending a position.
• Fluency with cash flow analysis, runway, burn, and unit economics.
• Advanced Excel and exposure to AI-enabled finance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new merchant applications with a documented rationale.
• Set reserves, holdbacks, and exposure limits.
• Run portfolio re-reviews and adjust terms as risk changes.
• Build underwriting policy, scorecards, and exposure reporting.
• Utilize AI/data tooling to speed up file review and decisioning.
