Breeze is hiring a Financial Underwriting Lead in New York to own underwriting decisions for merchant growth, risk, and terms. You will analyze financials, set reserves, and build policies that scale globally with AI-assisted finance workflows.

You\'ll bring 2–3 years in corporate debt analysis, experience underwriting startups, and proven ability to defend decisions with clear memos. Join a fast-growing fintech tackling global payments.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in corporate debt analysis and underwriting.
• Experience underwriting startups and privately held companies.
• Ownership of a credit decision with a written memo.
• Fluency with financial statements, cash flow, runway and unit economics.
• Advanced Excel and experience with AI-enabled finance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new merchant applications and assess terms.
• Set reserves, holdbacks, exposure limits.
• Run portfolio re-reviews and adjust risk framework.
• Build underwriting policy, scorecards, and reporting.
• Use AI/data tooling to speed up file review.
• Collaborate with Sales, Treasury Ops, Risk/Compliance, and bank diligence.
