Job summary

Circana is seeking an AI Principal Engineer to lead the design and delivery of our agent platform in a hybrid setup based in Chicago, IL or NYC, NY. You will guide a team of engineers, shape technical standards, and own critical infrastructure spanning runtimes, identity, and observability.

The role requires 10+ years building platform software, deep production experience with agentic systems, and strong communication with stakeholders across business and technical domains.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience designing a platform or shared system used by many teams.
• Proven track record shipping agentic systems into production for real users.
• Production experience on at least one major cloud AI stack.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Circana's agent platform and ecosystem: runtime, identity, tool registries, context and memory services.
• Lead a team of engineers, set technical direction, review work, mentor and raise the bar.
• Own harness engineering: context management, guardrails, tracing and replay.
• Establish evaluation infrastructure: golden traces, regression suites, release gates.
• Represent the work credibly to product owners, architects, security, executives, and clients.
