Job summary

The Planet Group is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to help build a next‑gen agentic AI platform. This hybrid role is based in Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL, with on-site presence Tue–Thu.

You’ll design platform services for multiple agent frameworks, implement orchestration and observability, and ensure secure‑by‑design practices across enterprise systems. You will bring 5+ years of software engineering with AI/ML or agentic apps, strong Python and API design skills, and hands‑on experience with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production AI/ML or agentic apps.
• Strong Python skills and API/microservice design experience.
• Hands-on with LLM-based agent design, prompt engineering, and tool integration.
• Experience with an agent or orchestration framework (LangGraph, LangChain, etc.).
• Solid cloud, containers, CI/CD, and production support background.
• Observability: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect reusable platform services for multiple agent frameworks and domains.
• Establish patterns for agent registration, discovery, task execution, memory/state, interoperability.
• Design multi-agent orchestration with event-driven/workflow approaches, routing, retries, failure handling.
• Build a centralized gateway for AI model calls, agent tools, and external integrations.
• Stand up full observability: tracing, metrics, dashboards, visibility into decisions and tool calls.
• Create automated evaluation pipelines with guardrails to maintain quality and safety.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and governance for responsible-AI and secure-by-design.
