Job summary

WRITER is seeking an exceptional software engineer to join our rapidly evolving team. You will help build the next generation of AI-powered solutions that transform how enterprises operate, delivering scalable, secure applications across hybrid environments.

You will work on design and delivery of secure AI integration platforms, APIs, and reliable cross-system orchestration, reporting to the senior director of engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems using Typescript, Deno, Node.js, or Bun.
• Strong experience designing and shipping API-driven platform services and distributed systems, including microservices and secure service-to-service communication.
• Practical expertise building AI integration layers and external API connectors, not just model experimentation.
• Deep hands‑on knowledge of authentication and security patterns for third‑party integrations (OAuth2/OIDC, API keys, token lifecycle, secrets).
• Proven cloud-native experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure, with containerized workloads (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD and production operations.
• Strong observability and reliability engineering experience, including SLOs/SLAs, alerting, incident response, and performance tuning.
• Solid backend fundamentals in TypeScript/Node or Python ecosystems with PostgreSQL.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, mentor engineers, and own delivery from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable AI integration platforms that connect enterprise systems and power mission-critical automation.
• Define how AI applications securely connect to external tools, data sources, and enterprise systems.
• Own backend service design for high-throughput, low-latency APIs enabling reliable agent workflows.
• Set security boundaries across integrations (OAuth, API keys, service-to-service).
• Shape roadmap and technical strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Lead production excellence through a metrics-first reliability strategy and observability improvements.
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions from design through production.
