Job summary

WRITER seeks a security engineer to secure its enterprise AI platform, embedding security into product development and aligning with engineering teams to protect data, models, and customer environments. The role reports to the head of security engineering and is hybrid across NYC, SF, or Seattle offices.

You will tackle threat modeling, secure architectures, and automation, shaping the security roadmap and enabling the rapid, secure delivery of AI-powered features across the platform.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in application security engineering for large-scale systems
• Experience with secure coding and DevSecOps
• Proficient in at least two programming languages (Python, Java, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Knowledge of SAST/DAST and security testing frameworks
• Strong communication to translate security concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
• Builder mindset to automate, scale, and empower security

• Open to Mid, Sr., and Staff level candidates

Responsibilities

• Build security into the DNA of our AI platform by threat modeling and secure architectures
• Lead and evolve the application security program with CI/CD scanning and secure code reviews
• Collaborate to establish secure coding standards and reusable patterns
• Design security features to protect customer environments
• Leverage AI agents to increase security team velocity
• Lead security assessments, pen tests, and remediation at scale
• Implement controls for data pipelines, model training, and AI agents
• Stay ahead of AI/ML threats and develop defenses
