Job summary

Ridgeline is seeking a Principal Engineer to architect and lead the AI Platform, guiding the design of agentic AI capabilities and their production deployment. You will collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Data to shape how external data access, model routing, and token-efficient usage are implemented while delivering customer-facing AI features.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in systems architecture.
• Experience shipping an AI-powered product in production, including agentic loop design, tool calling, and RAG.
• Proven ability to design scalable architectures and evaluate technologies for AI components.
• Experience establishing reliability/evaluation standards for AI models in production.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy and architecture for Ridgeline's AI platform and shared AI capabilities.
• Lead technical decisions enabling engineering teams to use AI platform capabilities at scale.
• Identify and resolve systemic obstacles to platform availability, usability, and reliability.
• Establish engineering standards and approaches as AI technologies evolve, including model evaluation in production.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and other teams to align AI investments with company priorities.
• Architect solutions for integrating external data via retrieval-augmented generation and data stores.
• Propose and evaluate new AI features and resolve debates to align teams.
