Job summary
Ridgeline is recruiting a Principal Engineer for the AI Platform to guide architecture and development of an agentic AI platform that powers our investment management software. You will actively contribute to product delivery while shaping AI capabilities, data access, and model usage strategies in a high-agency team culture.

Qualifications
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in systems architecture.
- Experience building and shipping an AI-powered product in production, including agentic loop design, tool calling, MCP, and RAG.
- Proven ability to design scalable, efficient architectures and evaluate AI-system components.
- Experience establishing reliability/evaluation standards for AI models in production.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical strategy and architecture for Ridgeline's AI platform and shared AI capabilities.
- Lead technical decisions enabling engineering teams to use AI platform capabilities in scalable, reliable, secure, and responsible ways.
- Identify and resolve systemic obstacles to AI platform availability, usability, extensibility, or reliability; bring teams onto the shared platform.
- Establish engineering standards and architectural approaches for evolving AI technologies and model evaluation in production.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Data, and other functions to align AI investments with company priorities and outcomes.
- Architect solutions for integrating external data via retrieval-augmented generation and model routing for token-efficient usage.
- Propose and evaluate new AI features to advance platform capabilities and resolve technical debates.
