Job summary

Avalara is seeking an AI Solutions Lead for Customer Onboarding Operations. You will oversee AI solution intake, data access provisioning, prototyping, UAT, and production delivery to accelerate onboarding and reduce manual work.

Role emphasizes governance, security, and cross-functional leadership to raise engineering standards across a globally distributed team and ensure high-quality, scalable AI-enabled implementations.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical or business field.
• 5+ years in technical program management, operations, software engineering, or similar leadership roles.
• Experience evaluating and operationalizing AI tools (n8n, Atlassian Rovo, Custom GPTs) in enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI solution lifecycle from intake to production across onboarding workflows.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to provision data access and secure data flows.
• Coordinate with AI CoE Governance Board for security, legal, and risk/compliance standards.
• Guide onboarding automation requirements and AI solution intake requests.
• Mentor AI Captains and Consultants to raise engineering standards and velocity.
