Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking an AI Solutions Lead for Customer Onboarding Operations to manage AI solution intake, prototyping, UAT, and production across a globally distributed team.

The role focuses on accelerating AI-enabled delivery, reducing manual work, and elevating engineering standards while collaborating with Data Engineering, Security, and Business Owners to ensure secure, scalable implementations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in CS, Engineering, Info Systems, Business Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years in technical program management, operations, software engineering, or cross-functional technical leadership roles in onboarding/implementation.
• Experience evaluating, selecting, and operationalizing AI tools (n8n, Atlassian ROVO, and Custom GPTs) within enterprise platforms.
• Proven ability to integrate systems using connectors or APIs and manage secure data flows end-to-end (e.g., Snowflake, Salesforce, Delinea Secrets).
• Strong workflow design including prompts, LLMs, RAG, MCP integrations, multi-agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI solution lifecycle for Customer Onboarding from intake to production.
• Facilitate requirements for onboarding automation and oversee AI Solutioning Intake.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to provision data access and manage security.
• Work with Business Owners to test solutions and ensure seamless UAT.
• Coordinate with AI CoE Governance Board to meet Security, Legal, and Compliance standards.
• Embed AI-assisted coding, testing, and architectural exploration into daily onboarding workflows.
