Job summary

NerdWallet, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a customer-facing product team responsible for our React Native mobile app and Next.js web experiences.

You will guide technical direction, balance product instincts with data, and enable an AI-native workflow that shifts from writing to building with AI. You will report to the Senior Director, Engineering, and will own outcomes, coach engineers, and push for high performance across the team while navigating ambiguous

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, including hands-on individual contributor experience.
• 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience leading an AI-native product engineering team with measurable impact.
• Strong product and business instincts; ability to decide what to build and what to cut.
• Experience hiring engineers and maintaining high performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the outcomes of a customer-facing team of senior engineers building across our React Native mobile app and Next.js web experiences.
• Shape the roadmap with Product and Design, bringing a clear POV on what data supports and what AI can build.
• Lead the team to build systems that compound, reducing future workload and increasing quality.
• Oversee AI-native workflows; define how the team plans, builds, reviews, and tests as AI reshapes processes.
• Communicate strategy, roadmap, rationale, and progress to peer teams, partners, and leadership.
