MasteryPrep LLC is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to guide a small product-engineering team, shipping code hands-on while mentoring others and ensuring the health of the product and process. The role centers on an AI-native development workflow where agents perform much of the implementation, while human engineers own verification, reviews, and final greenlights before commits and merges.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with 2+ years in a lead role.
• Strong full-stack depth with React/TypeScript and back-end Node.js experience.
• GCP experience (Cloud Run/SQL/Pub/Sub/IAM) and PostgreSQL schema design.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development and real production usage.
• Excellent code-reading ability and clear written communication.
• Judgment and ownership in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product engineers and manage delivery.
• Define an AI-native process with tasks, prompts, criteria, and checkpoints.
• Maintain accountability, with clear human decision points for PRs and merges.
• Design, build, and maintain features with AI-native engineering.
• Own data and integrations (SIS rostering pipelines to connect schools).
• Set quality standards, CI checks, security practices, and testing discipline.
• Measure impact of AI-assisted development and optimize for speed and safety.
