Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain ML systems and applications in Washington, DC. You will work with data science prototypes, select appropriate algorithms and tools, and train and optimize models for production use.

You will partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate opportunities into scalable AI capabilities, ensuring robust code, data modeling, and architectural practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining ML models and systems.
• Strong knowledge of ML algorithms and techniques.
• Background in mathematics, probability, statistics, and algorithms.
• Experience with data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis to evaluate and fine‑tune models.
• Experience selecting datasets and data representation methods.

The AI/ML Engineer will work with technical and cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can address complex business and technical challenges and deliver meaningful results.

Job Description

The AI/ML Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain machine learning systems and applications. This position will work with data science prototypes, select and implement appropriate machine learning algorithms and tools, and train and optimize models based on performance and test results.

The AI/ML Engineer will also collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand client challenges, identify opportunities for AI‑enabled solutions, and translate those opportunities into scalable technical capabilities.

Required Skills

• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining machine learning models and systems
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
