Job summary

Leading Path Consulting is seeking an AL/ML Engineer to advance Human Language Technologies, focusing on multilingual translation and low-resource languages. You will partner with Data Scientists to train custom models and enable scalable pipelines.

A TS/SCI with Poly is required, with multiple locations in Warrenton, Chantilly, and McLean, VA, USA. You will design and deploy end-to-end MLOps, work with cloud-native solutions on AWS, and ensure production readiness of models and datasets while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of related software engineering experience.
• Experience developing software applications using Python.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and optimizing ML/DL models using modern frameworks.
• Familiarity with DevOps/MLOps: CI/CD, automation, monitoring, version control.

Responsibilities

• Develop, fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize multilingual machine translation models (e.g., NLLB, Opus-MT, MarianMT) to improve translation quality for low-resource languages.
• Build, preprocess, and manage multilingual text and speech datasets for model training, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and end-to-end MLOps workflows for data ingestion, model training, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native ML solutions using AWS services such as SageMaker, Step Functions, and Bedrock.
• Deploy and support ML models in production using containerized environments and CI/CD best practices.
• Engineer features and optimize datasets to improve model performance.
• Conduct testing, validation, benchmarking, and troubleshooting of ML models and data pipelines.
• Research and evaluate emerging AI, ML, NLP, and speech technologies for mission applications.
