Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an AI Instructional Designer to develop and maintain AI fluency content for faculty, staff, and students. You will translate complex AI concepts into accessible learning experiences within the CAIO office, working closely with the Center for Faculty Excellence.

You will design content for diverse campus audiences, using e‑learning tools and Canvas LMS, and collaborate on program development while ensuring high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing learning content for adult or professional audiences.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI platforms.
• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent).
• Experience developing content in a learning management system (Canvas preferred).
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and iterate based on feedback.
• Instructional design expertise and genuine fluency in AI tools and applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain AI fluency content for faculty, staff, and students across the university.
• Translate complex AI concepts into accessible, high‑quality learning experiences.
• Collaborate with the CAIO office and the Center for Faculty Excellence on content strategy and delivery.
• Align learning materials with campus audiences, standards, and assessment criteria.
• Manage multiple design projects, iterate based on feedback, and ensure timely delivery.
