Job summary

Duke University’s Innovation Co-Lab, within the Office of Information Technology, seeks an AI Training and Enablement Specialist to shape how the university learns, adopts, and innovates with AI. You will educate, consult, and deploy AI-powered solutions across teaching, research, and administration.

You will design AI curricula, run workshops, and guide projects from experimentation to adoption, collaborating with faculty and AI leaders to scale responsible AI use across campus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning experiences.
  • Experience designing, deploying, or supporting AI solutions in real environments (GPTs, embeddings, plugins, AI pipelines).
  • Experience with full-stack web frameworks (Rails, Django, MERN).
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging AI training programs, workshops, webinars, cohorts, and self-paced resources.
  • Develop curricula on custom GPTs, AI agents, prompt engineering, API integrations, and AI technologies.
  • Provide consulting to faculty, staff, and students to apply AI to real-world challenges while navigating policy considerations.
  • Support the AIR service by helping teams transition prototypes into secure, supported solutions.
  • Build and maintain AI-powered applications, APIs, infrastructure, microservices, and CTL learning resources.
