Job summary

Alignerr Corp. seeks Japanese language experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Japanese-language content. Your linguistic insight and teaching background will shape how AI understands, generates, and teaches Japanese—making a real impact on one of the world's most nuanced languages.

This remote, hourly contract requires a minimum 15 hours per week with fully asynchronous collaboration. You will assess AI-generated speech and text for accuracy and naturalness, identify learner

Qualifications

• Native-level Japanese proficiency is required.
• Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language.
• Strong English communication (C1/C2).
• Familiarity with CEFR frameworks for proficiency levels.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across CEFR levels from Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify learner errors and pedagogical gaps using expert judgment.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally authentic Japanese.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback to improve AI tutoring and language-learning models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps using your expert judgment
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally authentic Japanese
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that helps improve AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese
• Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language
• Strong English communication skills (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR proficiency frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Detail-oriented with a consistent and principled approach to linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required
