Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a Japanese Language Expert to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Japanese content.

You will assess language quality, learner outputs, and provide actionable feedback to enhance AI tutoring and language-learning models. This is a remote, hourly contract with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week and fully asynchronous collaboration.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
• Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level).
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy and naturalness.
• Assess learner speech and writing across CEFR levels from Pre-A1 to B2+.
• Identify learner errors, phrasing issues, and pedagogical gaps.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, culturally authentic Japanese.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback to improve AI tutoring models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and language experts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps using expert judgment
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally authentic Japanese
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese
• Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required
