Job summary

a16z is seeking an IT Engineer, AI & Innovation Enablement to advance the adoption of AI across the firm. This hands-on IT Systems role blends engineering and enablement, involving testing AI model releases, setting up enterprise apps, and guiding power users on AI build use cases.

You will lead AI workshops, develop practical guides, and create an AI Champions network to accelerate learning and collaboration across business units.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in IT systems, security, IT infrastructure and platform engineering roles.
• Ability to test and evaluate AI tools with engineering rigor and communicate findings.
• Strong communication skills and ability to teach across varied technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Co-own the firm’s AI platforms and manage admin settings, access, licenses, and deployments.
• Lead workshops, hackathons, and guided build sessions; create AI enablement materials.
• Develop AI workflows, plugins, and training materials for productive use.
• Evaluate frontier AI products, test capabilities, and provide deployment guidance.
• Improve IT workflows through AI, automation, or process changes; partner with stakeholders.
• Build platform documentation and deployment playbooks for scale.
