Job summary

Enlighten in Columbia, MD, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our AI integration efforts around our Data Lake tool, JCRSD. You will focus on Python-based backend components and robust container orchestration with Kubernetes to ensure scalable, secure deployments.

You will design APIs and reusable AI skills, enable safe agent interactions with internal systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to expose APIs for AI agents while implementing strong guardrails and automated testing

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building Python-based backend components for AI-enabled platforms.
• Strong understanding of container orchestration with Kubernetes and scalable deployments.
• Experience integrating commercial or open-source LLMs into production systems.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and backend security practices.
• Comfortable working on Linux and using Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Python-based components for the AI agentic platform.
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications within Kubernetes environments.
• Build MCP servers and a library of reusable AI skills for safe interaction with internal data and APIs.
• Collaborate with teams to expose Java-based APIs to AI agents.
• Implement enterprise AI guardrails for data privacy and prompt safety.
• Maintain testing pipelines for non-deterministic AI outputs and troubleshoot under deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
