Michigan Medicine is hiring a full-time Software Engineer to build tools, applications, and platforms that help University of Michigan researchers develop, test, and evaluate AI in healthcare. You will work with researchers and our technical team to turn ideas into working solutions, building AI-powered applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations with clinical and university systems.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software eng, or equivalent.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining software apps and services.
• Proficiency in Python and API integration.
• Experience with relational DBs and SQL.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs and AI-enabled tools.
• Experience deploying apps with containers and deployment workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Mansioni

• Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled tools, apps, and platforms from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to define needs and deliver practical solutions.
• Develop backend services, APIs, automation, and components linking AI tools to workflows.
• Integrate LLM APIs and AI services into applications with data access and evaluation.
• Build and troubleshoot containerized apps in OpenShift/Kubernetes with security teams.
• Develop reusable components to reduce duplicated effort across projects.
• Follow software engineering best practices: VCS, testing, docs, monitoring, maintainable design.
• Integrate apps with Epic MiChart, U-M GPT, REDCap, and other research data platforms.
