Job summary

University of Michigan OVPR seeks an AI Solutions Developer to design and build web applications, integrate APIs, and connect with central identity services. You will own applications from concept through production on the UM infrastructure, collaborating with researchers and staff and applying AI thoughtfully.

You will work in a hybrid, Ann Arbor campus environment, using containerization, CI/CD, and secure data practices to deliver reliable tools.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of professional experience building and maintaining web applications.
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling.
• Hands on experience consuming and building REST APIs.
• Ability to explain technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control and collaborative development.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web applications and internal tools.
• Develop and consume APIs and integrate university services.
• Deploy containerized apps and manage production environments.
• Model and query relational data behind OVPR apps.
• Build dashboards and reporting to answer unit questions.
• Apply AI platforms to automate multi-step workflows.
