Michigan Medicine is seeking a Data Architect Intermediate/Senior for MAISE to design, deploy, and maintain AI-enabled data solutions across clinical and research domains. You will work with EHR data, relational databases, and NLP/LLM tools to deliver production-grade data pipelines and models.

You will partner with clinicians, researchers, and IT to ensure scalable, reliable solutions that improve patient safety, outcomes, and operational efficiency, while upholding data governance and security.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with relevant professional experience (senior); or Master's with at least two years' experience.
• At least five years of directly relevant professional experience for senior level.
• Three+ years of programming experience in Python, R, JavaScript, C++, or similar, with SQL and data management skills.
• Experience in data science, ML, statistical analysis, software development, or related fields.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks, NLP, LLMs, prompt engineering, and automated documentation analysis.
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL, APIs, or production applications.
• Knowledge of model validation, monitoring, interpretability, and maintenance.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Define project requirements with clinical, operational, research, and technical stakeholders.
• Acquire, clean, integrate, and analyze structured and unstructured healthcare data.
• Design scalable data structures and reusable pipelines for AI applications.
• Develop, train, evaluate, and optimize ML and statistical models for clinical and research use.
• Develop NLP and LLM applications for information extraction and workflow automation.
• Build and maintain production data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing healthcare databases and applications.
• Validate AI outputs and model performance with clinicians and researchers.
• Develop, test, debug, and maintain production software and resolve performance issues.
• Monitor data quality and system reliability; implement improvements.
