Job summary
Amentum is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. The role requires hands-on cloud engineering and familiarity with government, defense-industry, privacy, and international security frameworks.
You will translate regulatory requirements (NIST/DFARS/ITAR) into practical configurations, automate guardrails, and support audits.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Five years of related experience, including three+ years in cloud/security/infrastructure engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud or AWS security capabilities; ability to support Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365 Commercial and GCC High, Azure, AWS, and hybrid services.
- Administer cloud security posture management and workload protection; monitor and remediate.
- Translate regulatory requirements (NIST, DFARS, ITAR, ISO 27001, GDPR) into practical cloud configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support SOC investigations and risk assessments.
