Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Program Manager to grow the AI for Science program, building and managing partnerships with labs worldwide to advance Claude in life sciences across biomedical, chemistry, and materials science. You’ll shape strategy and engage interdisciplinary partners to demonstrate or expand Claude’s capabilities.

This foundational role blends science, business, and policy, requiring strong relationships, project management, and the ability to work across teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in life sciences research or related field.
• 3+ years of experience managing external partnerships, grants, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Deep relationships and credibility in life sciences domains with universities, labs, and tools companies.
• Technical fluency to engage on AI concepts, LLM capabilities, and work with technical teams.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven strategy and impact measurement.
• Experience building communities of practice among scientists across domains.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with programs or organizations built from scratch.
• Drive to maximize impact for underserved communities.
• High agency and comfort with ambiguity; ability to build while flying.
• Willingness to travel for partner visits and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute AI for Science API credit strategy, managing partnerships with labs, startups, and foundations.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new partners via API credit applications and relationship-building.
• Serve as primary relationship owner for AI for Science, coordinating with Applied AI, product, and GTM teams to deliver impact.
• Compile reports and learnings from the AI for Science ecosystem to inform research and GTM priorities.
• Manage timelines, resources, and regular reporting for the AI for Science program.
• Translate partners’ technical and operational needs into deployment plans.
• Prototype and test early concepts to learn alongside partners and unblock progress.
• Set a research agenda for AI’s impact on labs across domains.
• Identify opportunities to create public goods—open-source tools, datasets, and research.
• Represent Anthropic at global scientific conferences and convenings.
• Help shape team processes and culture as Life Science work scales.
• Strong prioritization to manage many partnerships and opportunities.
