Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join the Beneficial Deployments team, focused on maximizing Claude’s impact in life sciences. You will partner with flagship institutions, prototype agents for real research pipelines, and build ecosystem tooling to accelerate scientific progress from R&D to translation.

You’ll work with researchers at HHMI and The Allen Institute, contribute to research infrastructure, and help bring Claude closer to the frontier of life sciences while keeping

Qualifications

• Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications: prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks.
• Builder credibility from shipping production code as a software engineer, forward-deployed engineer, or technical founder.
• Deep research experience in life sciences, biomedical research, or scientific computing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with life sciences research institutions to understand workflows and integrate research into production systems.
• Develop reusable ecosystem infrastructure, including domain data sources, instruments, benchmarks, and agent skills.
• Identify hard deploy challenges in life sciences and feed findings to product, engineering, and research teams.
• Create technical content and documentation to enable partners to self-serve at scale.
