Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Program Manager to grow our AI for Science program. You will build and manage partnerships with labs worldwide, shaping Claude deployment across biomedical sciences, chemistry, and materials science.

You will work with interdisciplinary partners from academia and startups, developing relationships and communities of practice while pursuing ambitious, impactful science.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of life sciences research experience with exposure to new technologies.
• 3+ years of experience managing external partnerships, grants, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Strong relationships with key universities, research institutes and tools companies.
• Technical fluency to engage on AI concepts and LLM capabilities with technical teams.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven strategy to measure impact.
• Experience building communities of practice among scientists from multiple domains.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with programs or organizations built from scratch.
• Drive to maximize impact for underserved communities.
• High agency and comfort with ambiguity; thrive building the plane while flying it.
• Strong prioritization skills; manage many partnerships and opportunities.
• Willingness to travel for partner visits and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute Anthropic's AI for Science API credit strategy, managing partnerships with labs and foundations.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new partners via API credit applications and targeted outreach.
• Serve as the primary relationship owner for AI for Science, coordinating with Applied AI, product, and GTM teams.
• Compile regular reports and learnings to inform research and GTM priorities.
• Manage timelines and resource plans for the AI for Science program.
• Translate partner needs into deployment plans and technical requirements.
• Prototype and test with partners to learn and unblock implementation.
• Set a research agenda for AI's impact on labs across domains.
• Identify opportunities to create public goods like open-source tools and datasets.
• Represent Anthropic at global scientific conferences and convenings.
• Help shape team processes and culture as Life Science work scales.
