Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced engineer to turn emerging AI capabilities into durable products. You will work end-to-end, close to users, product decisions, and production code, connecting the pieces that turn an AI demonstration into a real product.

This role demands founder-like ownership, rapid prototyping, secure services, and a willingness to simplify when evidence dictates. Hybrid work with travel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study.
• End-to-end delivery: take software from concept to launch, learning and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud tech.
• Applied AI experience with large language models, retrieval, tools, or similar patterns.
• Evaluation experience: automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic outputs.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, reliability, incident response, recovery, performance.
• User-centered practice: working with users, designers, and product leaders to inform decisions.
• Engineering craft: clear specifications, maintainable code, thoughtful review, and sound trade-offs.
• Requires up to 50% travel and hybrid-capable office attendance.

Responsibilities

• Start with the user and understand real workflows with domain experts.
• Test assumptions quickly with concise specs, prototypes, and small releases.
• Own complete product slices across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Design AI behavior including instructions, context, retrieval, and outputs.
• Build the evidence system with representative tasks and automated evaluations.
• Instrument user journeys to relate adoption to system behavior and cost.
• Engineer for responsible use with clear permissions and secure data handling.
• Ensure production quality via incremental releases, monitoring, and incident response.
• Make practical trade-offs balancing experience, quality, speed, reliability, and cost.
• Share reproducible patterns and evaluation assets across the platform.
