Job summary

Pearson is seeking an AI-native engineering manager to lead the Data Foundations platform modernization in Des Moines. You will own delivery across legacy and new tech, align with product and security, and guard rails for AI-enabled capabilities.

You will supervise engineers, manage migrations, ensure data contracts and observability, and drive adoption of reusable tooling while protecting continuity for current platform consumers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years managing engineers who ship to production.
• Ability to review technical decisions and be credible with AI-fluent engineers.
• Experience delivering model-backed or agentic capabilities to real users.

Responsibilities

• Own planning, prioritization, and delivery commitments for your team and rhythm.
• Hire against AI-fluent engineering bar and manage pipeline risk.
• Protect continuity and guardrails for AI-enabled products through evaluation gates and disclosure.
