Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to create K-12 assessments for state and district clients and to work with asset creation and AI-enabled workflows. You will combine content expertise with assessment design to deliver accessible, high-quality items across grade levels.

You will collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson groups, review items, and guide writers while leveraging AI to improve content. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and ensure accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Help select, assign, and train item/passage writers and educators.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Assist with test construction and review of composed forms.
• Consult with the customer and participate in planning and status reviews.
• Work closely with test development managers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment, including AI.
• Some travel required.
