Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to help build standards-based K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will collaborate with educators, departments, and partners to ensure accessible, high-quality content across grade levels.

You will leverage AI-powered tools, participate in item development, and work with writers and educators to deliver robust assessment materials while staying current with AI-driven innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-supported content development.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• General knowledge of all phases of development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content development and quality.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in workflows.
• Select, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers and participate in planning and reviews.
• Work with test development managers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in educational content creation and AI.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
