Biorce, an AI-driven Healthtech startup, is seeking an AI Engineer in Austin to prototype, build, and debug AI-specific parts of our product within product squads. You will work on prompts, agents, retrieval, and model behavior, learning how our platform, harness, and model layers fit together with mentorship from senior teammates.

This role emphasizes direct customer impact, fast learning, and collaboration across an international team as we expand in the US and Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science with ML focus.
• 1–3 years AI/ML experience.
• Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, tool calling, and embeddings.
• Foundational ML concepts: training vs inference, failure modes.
• Experience shipping at least one AI feature end-to-end.
• Comfort learning unfamiliar parts of an AI system with support.
• Willingness to work directly with customers and stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and take feedback well.

Responsibilities

• Work within product squads to design and ship AI-specific features.
• Prototype agent behaviors and tool integrations with real users and data.
• Build multi-step agent workflows for product use cases.
• Integrate platform and model capabilities into product experiences.
• Implement guardrails and safety checks for AI features.
• Debug model and agent behavior with guidance from seniors.
• Collaborate with product and design to understand user needs.
• Surface feedback from real-world AI usage to Platform and AI Scientist teams.
