Job summary

Trinity Industries in Dallas, TX is seeking an entry-level AI Engineer Associate to design and deploy agentic AI applications that support business teams across the enterprise. You will work with large language models, agent frameworks, and AI-assisted coding, taking solutions from prototype to production under established governance and review processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent demonstrated practical experience.
• Demonstrable experience building AI prototypes or agentic projects (internship, coursework, research, personal projects, or employment).
• Ability to generate code using AI-assisted coding tools in an IDE and to read, explain, test, and troubleshoot what those tools produce.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of version control (Git) and collaborative development practices.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills; ability to present technical work to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate status without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and deliver agentic systems that plan and execute multi-step business tasks.
• Implement agent controls with evaluation, secure tool access, and monitoring in production.
• Produce code and deploy artifacts using AI-assisted generation and review that code before shipping.
• Deploy and support applications through CI/CD pipelines with testing and issue triage.
• Apply data governance and access-control practices with data engineering.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand problems.
• Demo results and deliver handoff docs, runbooks, and metrics.
