Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own a domain in the AI Enablement team and build tools that bridge AI-adjacent and AI-native workflows. You will lead the MCP server infrastructure, integrate Jira, Splunk, and Datadog, and deploy autonomous agents within FedRAMP boundaries.

You will contribute across the stack, mentoring others and documenting best practices, while delivering resilient software that scales with AI augmentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in backend services, proxy servers, and API integrations.
• Experience with Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• AI literacy with AI-augmented IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).
• Ability to translate complex technical implementations into clear docs.

Responsibilities

• Own a specific technical domain (e.g., MCP server infrastructure).
• Architect and maintain internal MCP servers and deploy cloud-hosted agents within FedRAMP boundaries.
• Deliver software solutions via milestones with sustainability and reusability.
• Conduct spikes on emerging AI tools to ensure compatibility with Workiva’s architecture.
